Joint Mobilisation

Joint Mobilisation

Joint mobilisation is a technique used to restore the small, involuntary movements that assist joints in performing their optimal range of movement.

It involves assessing the joint restriction or limitation and applying a passive glide to improve joint function and decrease pain. It may also progress to active, where the patient moves actively or passively while the mobilisation is applied. This is aimed at disassociating the movement from the pain and returning to normal pain-free movement.
