Electrotherapy uses TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) NMES (Neuromuscular electrical stimulation and Microcurrent therapy. Each of which may be used depending on the presentation.

TENS is useful to modulate pain, whereas NMES is useful for muscle recovery and strength in early rehabilitation after periods of immobilisation or disuse and Microcurrent therapy can promote tissue healing and decrease pain sensitivity in chronic pain states.
